Allium burlewii is a species of wild onion known by the common name Burlew's onion. It is endemic to California, where grows in the granitic soils of several of the central and southern mountain ranges. This is a short-stemmed onion, growing to heights of just a few centimeters from an oval-shaped bulb. It sprouts a single long, pointed onion leaf. The flower cluster contains up to 20 dark-veined purple flowers each up to a centimeter long with dark purple anthers.
