Dense lace fern (Aspidotis densa), also known as Indian’s dream or pod-fern, is a fern native to California and also Montana, Wyoming, Utah and Canada.  It has creeping fronds covered with firm narrow scales, as on cedar leaves. Its sterile and fertile leaves are different, the fertile leaves being longer.

This fern usually grows on serpentine soils on rocky mountain slopes that are well-draining but seasonally moist. It can also grow in rock crevices and exposed rocky outcrops in mossy cracks. It is usually found in growing full sun, but it can tolerate some shade. It may be a good container plants.
