Plant description

Alpine Fescue (Festuca brachyphylla) is a native grass that grows in Northern, Southern and Central California, primarily in the White and Inyo Mountains and High Sierra Nevada regions. It tends to grow in rocky places, at elevations from 9200-14100 feet.
