Thelypteris puberula var. sonorensis, the Sonoran Maiden Fern, is native to Southern California, Arizona, and the states of Baja California and Sonora in northwestern Mexico. It is found in riparian, meadow, and seep habitats.

This rhizomatous fern grows up to 3ft. by 3ft. with light green long and lacy fronds. It is good for moist shaded areas and large containers. It can be evergreen with regular water.
